The Arc—A Little Background

With the founding of The Arc of McLennan County in 1954, Mrs. Walter Lacy, Sr. initiated what was to become a long-term commitment to citizens with intellectual disabilities. In 1990, after 36 years of continued growth despite a somewhat "transient existence," The Arc created a permanent home at 1825 Morrow Avenue in Waco, with much appreciated funding from the Cooper Foundation. It continues to be a wonderful pace to meet, learn, laugh, and love!
