For Children:
  • After School Care -- From 3:00 to 5:30 pm each school day, The Arc offers care for school-aged children with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are unable to be cared for in traditional daycare settings due to the level of care they require. This state-licensed program enables working parents to pursue full-time employment. The program serves the Waco, Connally, and Midway school districts.
  • Summer Camp --  Each summer The Arc offers an 8-week day camp from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm for 50-60 children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Activities include swimming, bowling, arts and crafts, field trips, and all around fun. The Arc camp enables working parents to know that their children receive quality care during the summer months when school is not in session.
  • Teen/Young Adult Group --  The Arc offers a Saturday morning (second Saturday of the month at various locations) social/activity group for teens with disabilities.
For Adults:

  • The Opportunity Center-- A day program for adults on the autism spectrum that fosters social, artistic, vocational, volunteer, and entrepreneurial development.

  • Counseling --  Counseling appointments are available for adults with disabilities to address grief and relational issues.
  • Support and Education -- Adults with disabilities require support for daily living and turn to The Arc for advice, companionship, and encouragement. The Arc also offers monthly gatherings (third Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm) for 50+ adults who learn life skills and how to advocate for themselves in daily life.
  • Sewing --  The Arc offers a sewing class the second Tuesday of the month at 10:00 am.
  • Advocacy --  The Arc of McLennan County is affiliated with The Arc of Texas and The Arc of the United States, organizations that advocate for the rights of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities to be included in their local communities.
  • Best Buddies --  The Arc partners with the Baylor chapter of Best Buddies to pair adults with Baylor students, who do things together socially.
For Parents:
  • Parent Support -- Support involves consulting with parents who have a child with an intellectual or developmental disability, helping with school mediation, and providing information and referral.
